Bengaluru Food Safety Officials Raid 10 Elite Clubs, Flag Hygiene Lapses

Bengaluru's Food Safety Department has launched inspections at 10 prominent clubs across the city to assess compliance with hygiene and food safety regulations. At the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Club, inspectors identified multiple lapses including inadequate personal hygiene among food handlers, use of plastic cutting boards, blocked drainage, an unhygienic frozen storage room, and mixed storage of vegetarian and non-vegetarian items. A packet of K Shakti Toor Dal and tilapia fish were flagged for missing label information such as packing date, batch number, and MRP. Officials also issued a notice to Mahalakshmi Layout Club after finding hygiene-related concerns. The inspections are part of a broader crackdown on food establishments in Bengaluru, following similar action against Amazon, Instamart, and BigBasket in Karnataka.
