Bengaluru Launches Automated Building Plan Approval Pilot

The Greater Bengaluru Authority launched Nambike Nakshe 2.0 in Bengaluru on September 19, 2026, as a pilot in selected areas. The automated system removes official scrutiny and verification before granting approvals for qualifying buildings. Owners can use GBA-empanelled architects or engineers and provide only an e-Khata number and plot geo-location online. The eligible plots must measure up to 50 ft by 80 ft, or 375 sq. m, and the system covers residential buildings of up to four units. Nambike Nakshe 1.0, launched on March 11, 2024, already allowed approvals within a day for such buildings.
Why it matters
The pilot changes the approval process for qualifying property owners, architects and engineers in selected Bengaluru areas by removing the prior official scrutiny stage.
