Bengaluru Man Stages Own Abduction for Ransom

Bengaluru police arrested 40-year-old Manish and two associates for orchestrating a fake kidnapping to extort ₹90 lakh from his father. Manish, a businessman, told his parents he was traveling to Gadag for work but instead hid in a house in Belur, Hassan district. He then contacted his father via WhatsApp, claiming he had been abducted by two unidentified men demanding ransom. His accomplices subsequently called the father to pressure him for the money. The Rajarajeshwari Nagar police used technical surveillance to track the group to their location in Belur.
