Bengaluru Metro Pink Line Stretch Ready for Inauguration

· India · The Hindu, Indian Express, Deccan Herald

The 7.5-km Kalena Agrahara–Tavarekere stretch of the Bengaluru Metro Pink Line is now ready for public use. Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda confirmed the readiness of the elevated section on Wednesday. The state government is currently awaiting a formal inauguration date from the Government of India, which is expected within September. This corridor is part of a larger 21.3-km project connecting Kalena Agrahara in the south to Nagawara in the north.

Why it matters

The opening of this stretch will provide a significant transit alternative for commuters in southern Bengaluru, easing traffic congestion along the Kalena Agrahara–Tavarekere route.
