Bengaluru police registered an FIR against Shivakumar after posters depicting Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda were found on public walls and roads in Ward 10. The complaint was filed by Govindappa Bajanthri, an assistant executive engineer of the Greater Bengaluru Authority, after an inspection between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesday. Police cited Sections 3 and 6 of the Karnataka Open Places (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act, 1981. A separate FIR was filed in Kodigehalli for similar unauthorized advertising structures at the Railway Underpass in Sahakara Nagar, also naming Shivakumar.
