Food safety officials in Bengaluru have closed and seized the kitchen at Chairman’s Club in Sahakaranagar’s Dollars Colony following a special inspection. The Karnataka Department of Food Safety and Drug Administration discovered 40kg of expired chilli stored for use, alongside improperly labelled bread crumbs and Sajeera products. Inspectors reported highly unhygienic conditions, including the storage of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items together. The department also alleged the use of unauthorised artificial colours in food preparation. Legal action has been initiated against the club under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
