An 18-year-old girl from Bengaluru’s Vidyaranyapura vanished on January 31 after leaving home with a minor friend, claiming they were going to college. Despite searches across 100+ locations—including Mumbai, Delhi, and Kerala—they were located seven months later in a Karnataka village when an OTP for a government welfare scheme traced their whereabouts. Police confirmed she is now married and pregnant. The CID took over the case after her parents filed a habeas corpus petition, alleging neglect at home, including academic pressure and favouritism toward her elder sister. The minor, whose parents reportedly wanted a son, also reportedly felt abandoned.
