An extended family of 29 people from Bhopal went on a Gosainkunda pilgrimage in Nepal for Sawan Purnima and has been untraceable since flash floods hit on Thursday. Devki Adhikari in Bhopal received a 9:30 am call from relatives Krishna-Radhika Khanal and Ramchandra-Bhavati Khanal Adhikari, who said they were sheltering on a house roof that was already half-submerged. The relatives told her, "The house is half submerged. We will not survive now. Take care of our children," before the line went silent. "The line remained connected, but the voices stopped," the family said, with no contact established since. The broader death toll from the Nepal and Tibet flash floods has climbed to 538, with 977 still missing and around 3,742 rescued. The MEA confirmed 400 Indians on the Chinese side are safe, while 320 Indians and over 100 people of Indian origin remain unaccounted for.
