Bihar: 5 Killed, 2 Injured as Speeding Bus Ploughs Into Orchestra Crowd

Five people were killed and two others injured after a speeding bus ran over a crowd watching an orchestra programme in West Champaran, Bihar. The incident took place at Bankatwa Parautola near Lauriya late Friday evening during a Chhathi ceremony gathering that spilled onto the road. Police stated that the bus, traveling from Gorakhpur to Bettiah, lost control before ploughing into the attendees around 11pm. Two victims died instantly, while three others succumbed to their injuries during treatment at a government hospital. The bus driver fled the scene and abandoned the vehicle, which has since been seized by local authorities.
