Bihar Police have ordered a DNA test on a buffalo to settle a ownership dispute between two residents of Gaya district, Suraj Yadav and Prakash Manjhi. The conflict began after Mr. Yadav claimed the animal was stolen from his home in Sirh village and later found it tied at Mr. Manjhi's residence in Nauranga hamlet. Following a police intervention and subsequent public commotion, the animal was initially handed to Mr. Yadav, prompting Mr. Manjhi to file a complaint under the SC/ST Act. Local political leaders from the RJD and the Hindustani Awam Morcha have since become involved in the matter.
