The Bihar Education Department has suspended an assistant teacher following the discovery of financial irregularities exceeding Rs 1 crore at the Amshon Kunwar Higher Secondary School in Vaishali district. The accused, who served as acting headmaster during the period of the alleged fraud, reportedly failed to maintain mandatory cashbooks for student and development funds. Investigators identified multiple issues, including improper procurement procedures and discrepancies in vendor GST documentation and tax deductions. The department has initiated a formal chargesheet and appointed the Regional Deputy Director of Education, Tirhut Division, to conduct a detailed inquiry. The teacher is currently posted at a school in Samastipur.
