Binance Opens Capital Connect Platform to Wealthy Individual Investors
· Business · CNBC
Cryptocurrency exchange Binance is expanding its Capital Connect platform to include eligible individual investors who hold at least $1 million in assets. Previously restricted to institutional clients, the platform allows users to compare and invest in professional trading strategies. As of September, the service featured 212 portfolios managed by 77 professional trading teams, a significant increase from the 106 portfolios and 35 teams recorded in May. The platform operates using Binance's Portfolio Account infrastructure, which manages fees and risk metrics while trading teams focus on strategy development. While the service initially focused exclusively on crypto, many trading teams have since integrated traditional financial instruments into their offerings.
Why it matters
The move signals a shift in the crypto sector as major exchanges increasingly compete with traditional financial institutions for the business of high-net-worth individuals.
