Bitcoin Holds Near $77,000 as Traders Await US Jobs Data
· Business · Economic Times, LiveMint
Bitcoin traded at $77,863 on Thursday, up 1.08% over 24 hours, as investors weighed improving global risk sentiment against uncertainty over US interest rates and Friday's employment report. Ethereum rose 0.14% to $2,404, while major altcoins including BNB, XRP, Solana, Tron, Hyperliquid, Dogecoin, and Cardano gained up to 6.50%. Giottus CEO Vikram Subburaj noted Bitcoin's August rally stalled below long-term-holder supply between $83,000 and $86,000, with $78,400 emerging as a key short-term resistance level. Economists expect Friday's US jobs report to show around 56,000 new jobs with unemployment at 4.1%. The global crypto market capitalisation rose 0.59% to $2.63 trillion, with the fear and greed index at 63 indicating greedy sentiment.
Why it matters
Indian crypto investors tracking Bitcoin's next move should watch Friday's US jobs report — a weak print could accelerate rate-cut bets and lift prices, while a strong number risks pushing Bitcoin back below $77,000.
