BJP Criticises Congress Leadership Over Electoral Defeats
· India · Indian Express, Hindustan Times
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has dismissed Opposition protests against the Election Commission as "pure theatrics." Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi, Chouhan attributed the Congress party's recent electoral setbacks to its own "visionless leadership" rather than institutional failures. He cited losses in by-elections, Assam, Tripura, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh as evidence of the party's declining political standing. The BJP leader further accused the Congress of attempting to mislead the public by questioning constitutional bodies like the judiciary and the Armed Forces.
