BJP Leader V. Muraleedharan Denies Raising Funds for Personal Gain

BJP national executive member and MLA V. Muraleedharan stated in Thrissur on Friday (September 25, 2026) that he never personally collected money for party activities during his six-year tenure as the State party president. He declared that all income and expenditure details were handed over to the party and expressed readiness to face any inquiry regarding allegations of collecting money for personal purposes. Mr. Muraleedharan faced scrutiny after an entry reading "Mr. Muraleedharan BJP" appeared in a seized diary belonging to Sasidharan Kartha, owner of Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited, which allegedly recorded a payout of ₹3 lakh. He noted that his asset and income declarations submitted to the Election Commission since 2009 could be examined and that he had not purchased any land or gold since 2012. He also remarked that investigation agencies found Veena Vijayan had not clearly explained services provided in return for payments made by CMRL.
