BJP Members Stage Protest Demanding Minister Nagendra's Resignation

BJP members launched a day-and-night protest in Belagavi demanding the resignation of Minister B. Nagendra over alleged financial misappropriation in the Maharshi Valmiki Development Corporation. Protesters walked from the Kittur Channamma Circle to the Deputy Commissioner's office, accusing Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar of political compulsions in appointing him. MLA Abhay Patil stated that Mr. Nagendra is involved in the misappropriation of 187 crore rupees and vowed that protests will continue across the state until he resigns. Former MLA Sanjay Patil accused the leadership of protecting corrupt officials, while former MP Anna Saheb Jolle criticized the state government for failing to distribute social welfare pensions and handle drought conditions.
