· Business · Economic Times, India Today

Technology remains the top preference among investors, but Asia fund managers have shifted toward a defensive stance according to the Bank of America Securities August Asia Fund Manager Survey. The survey shows that 59 percent of investors are hedging AI downside risk by rotating into value, cyclical, and defensive sectors. Nearly two-thirds of investors require clearer evidence of AI monetization before increasing their exposure to AI-related stocks. In Asia ex-Japan, investors rotated into Utilities, Banks, Staples, Healthcare, and Telecoms, while Industrials and Tech Hardware recorded the sharpest declines. Investor optimism toward Asia ex-Japan equities rose to the 89th percentile in August.
