Bombay High Court Orders CBI to Reopen Disha Salian Death Case

The Bombay High Court has ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation to reinvestigate the 2020 death of celebrity manager Disha Salian. Salian, 28, died after falling from the 12th floor of a building in Mumbai on the night of 8 June 2020. While police previously concluded the death was a suicide, the court cited glaring discrepancies in the investigation, including unexplained delays in paperwork and inconsistencies in the post-mortem report. Judges Sarang V. Kotwal and Ranjitsinha Raja Bhonsale noted that police failed to register a formal First Information Report despite the suspicious nature of the incident. The court order follows a petition by the victim's father, Satish Salian, who alleges his daughter was murdered and that evidence was destroyed to protect influential politicians.
