Brahmin Body Demands Representation in GVMC Elections

· India · The Hindu, Zee News

The Vizag Brahmin Welfare Society has expressed strong dissatisfaction with political parties, particularly the NDA, for ignoring the community in corporator seat allocations for the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation elections. Society president K. Charan Kumar stated that despite the Brahmin community holding over two lakh votes, political parties have completely overlooked them. He noted that unreserved wards are being subjected to reservations, depriving the community of fair political representation. The association also urged all political parties, including the YSRCP, to recognize the community's electoral strength in Visakhapatnam.
