Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the manufacturing of defence equipment in Uttar Pradesh highlights the transformation taking place across India. Speaking at the UP International Trade Show 2026 in Greater Noida, Shah claimed that BrahMos missiles manufactured in the state are giving Pakistan sleepless nights. He noted that investments in defence manufacturing are flowing into all six nodes of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, including Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Lucknow, Agra, Aligarh, and Kanpur. Shah also credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership for signing Free Trade Agreements that have boosted export potential. He added that AK-203 assault rifles made in Amethi are targeting Naxalites and terrorists.
