BRICS Summit: Delhi schools, offices closed today? Check what’s open, what’s shut
· India · Hindustan Times, Zee News
All schools and government offices in Delhi will remain closed on Friday, September 11, to accommodate security and traffic arrangements for the 18th BRICS Summit. The Supreme Court and its Registry have also declared a holiday for the date, with the Registry remaining shut on September 12 as well. Delhi Traffic Police have announced major diversions between 2 pm and 8:30 pm to facilitate the movement of VVIP convoys and foreign delegations. While government institutions and PSUs are mandated to close, there is no similar directive for private offices. Commuters are encouraged to use public transport, particularly the Metro, to navigate the city during the summit.
Why it matters
The city-wide closures and traffic restrictions will significantly disrupt daily commutes and public services for residents and businesses across the capital.
