Bristol Woman Sentenced After Fatal XL Bully Attack

Kelcie Reed, 24, received an 18-week suspended prison sentence at Bristol Crown Court for being in charge of a dog that caused a death. Her cousin, 19-year-old Morgan Dorsett, died from neck and face injuries following an attack at Reed's flat in Bishopsworth, Bristol, in February 2025. The court heard that Reed accepted responsibility for the incident, sparing the family the trauma of a trial. The dog, named Prince, was sedated at the scene and subsequently humanely destroyed. As part of her sentence, Reed is required to undergo mandatory mental health treatment.
