Calendly Adds AI‑Driven Meeting Note‑Taker to Its Suite
· Technology · TechCrunch
Calendly has launched a new AI‑based meeting note‑taker that can join a meeting, record audio and video, transcribe the conversation, and produce a summary, action items and draft follow‑up emails. The tool also trials a Granola‑style feature that captures system audio. Calendly plans an AI assistant named Callie that will use the existing scheduling stack to book meetings, check availability and surface context from past meetings. CEO Tope Awotona says the focus is on top users in sales and marketing who are heavily meeting‑oriented. The company competes with note‑takers such as Granola, Fireflies, Read AI, Otter and Fathom, and with productivity suites like Notion, ClickUp and Wispr. To address privacy concerns, the note‑taker notifies participants that it is recording and allows users to stop it at any time or to inform attendees before the meeting starts.
Why it matters
The new tools provide sales and marketing teams with automated follow‑up content, potentially saving time and reducing administrative load for companies worldwide, including Indian enterprises that use Calendly.
