Canon Launches EOS R8 II Full-Frame Camera With Retro SLR Styling

Canon has unveiled the EOS R8 II, a 24-megapixel entry-level full-frame camera featuring a design inspired by the classic EOS 650 SLR film camera. The new model includes a dedicated joystick for autofocus control and is the lightest full-frame camera on the market equipped with 5-axis in-body stabilization, weighing 546 grams. Performance upgrades include a 40 fps continuous shooting speed in electronic shutter mode and improved subject tracking for people, animals, and vehicles. The camera also supports 4K 60p video recording oversampled from the full 6K sensor width and includes 10-bit 4:2:2 capture capabilities. Canon confirmed the device addresses specific feedback from users regarding the original R8 model's performance limitations.
