Noah Anyadike, aged 15 years and 98 days, became the youngest player in EFL Cup history by starting for Cardiff City in their 2-1 defeat against Norwich City. The Wales youth international, who also became Cardiff's youngest-ever player, was forced off with muscle cramps in the second half. Anyadike broke the previous record held by Harvey Elliot, who debuted at 15 years and 174 days for Fulham in 2018. Cardiff manager Brian Barry-Murphy praised Anyadike's talent and said the club would focus on his development. Anyadike could make his Championship debut next against Sheffield United.
