The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a 636-page chargesheet against lawyer Samarth Singh and his mother, former judge Giribala Singh, regarding the death of actor-model Twisha Sharma. Twisha was found hanging at her marital home in Bhopal on May 12, with the accused facing charges of dowry death, cruelty, and abetment to suicide under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Dowry Prohibition Act. While the in-laws initially claimed the death was a suicide, the victim's family alleged persistent dowry-related torture and violence. A second autopsy performed by an AIIMS Delhi medical board in Bhopal was ordered by the Madhya Pradesh High Court to resolve forensic disputes regarding the ligature material. The CBI subsequently took over the investigation and arrested both suspects following the findings of the second postmortem.
