Celtic Face Regression Concerns After Sixth Defeat in 10 Matches
· Sports · BBC Sport
Celtic is currently experiencing a period of regression, having suffered six defeats in their last 10 matches across all competitions. The team's recent form includes a surprise loss to Falkirk, where they dominated possession and shot counts but failed to secure a result. Former players and managers, including Chris Sutton and Ian McCall, have cited a lack of strategic direction and the declining physical performance of key squad members as primary concerns. Despite these struggles, the club maintains a four-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership. Celtic now prepares for a critical Europa League fixture against Besiktas to keep their European campaign alive.
Why it matters
The team's poor form threatens their lead in the Scottish Premiership and jeopardizes their continued participation in the Europa League.
