Cheranalloor Accident: Daughter Alleges Judge Destroyed Evidence After Fatal Crash

· India · The Hindu, Hindustan Times

Bhadrakeerthi R.J., daughter of Jayabalakrishnan who died in a Cheranalloor accident on October 25, petitioned the Cheranalloor Station House Officer to register a criminal case under Section 238 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. She alleges the Additional District Judge, who owned the luxury car, destroyed evidence at the accident spot and tried to deflect the probe. The petition claims the judge arrived 20 minutes after the crash at 2.14 a.m. and spent about three hours at the scene. The petitioner further alleges the judge violated norms by visiting the police station and interfering with the investigation.

Why it matters

The allegations, if proven, would undermine public trust in the judicial process and probe integrity in a high-profile fatal accident case involving a minor and a government official.
