Chhattisgarh Launches Portal to Link Tribal Tin Prices to Global Market

The Chhattisgarh government has launched the Tribal Incentives on Natural Resources (TIN) portal to ensure fair pricing for tribal tin collectors in the Bastar district. By linking tin prices to the London Metal Exchange (LME), the state aims to align payments with international market rates. The platform digitises the entire procurement process, including registration, quality testing, and price determination. Payments will be transferred directly to beneficiaries' bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to eliminate intermediaries and reduce delays. The Chhattisgarh Mineral Development Corporation Limited (CMDC) is also planning to open three new collection centres in Bastar, Dantewada, and Sukma to improve accessibility.
