Chikitha Taniparthi secured two gold medals in her debut at the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan. The 21-year-old from Sultanpur village in Telangana won the women's team compound event alongside Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Prithika Pradeep, and the mixed team gold with Sahil Jadhav. Although she initially practiced karate and earned a black belt, she transitioned to archery after her father, Srinvasa Rao, encouraged her to pursue the sport. She credits decorated archer Abhishek Verma for providing guidance during her development.
