Chinese Robot Lightning Breaks Usain Bolt's 100m World Record

A humanoid robot named 'Lightning', developed by the Chinese company Honor, recorded a 100-metre sprint time of 9.32 seconds during a test event. This performance surpasses the human world record of 9.58 seconds set by Usain Bolt in 2009. The robot, which stands 169 centimetres tall, also previously won the 21-kilometre Beijing half marathon. The World Humanoid Robot Games are currently taking place in Beijing through August 26.
