Chinese robotics companies are shifting focus from exhibition displays to practical commercial applications, showcasing humanoids performing tasks like packing mobile phones and sorting parcels at the World Robot Conference in Beijing. More than 300 companies are participating in the event, which runs through Sunday and features over 2,000 exhibits. Unitree, a prominent humanoid manufacturer, saw its shares rise nearly sixfold during its Shanghai trading debut following an oversubscribed IPO. Other firms, including Lumos Robotics and the robotics division of Chery Automobile, are reportedly exploring potential stock market listings. Despite U.S. export restrictions on advanced AI chips, foreign suppliers like RealSense continue to pursue partnerships within the Chinese robotics market.
