Chinese Robotics Startup Lumos Eyes Fresh Funding and 2027 Stock Listing

Chinese robotics startup Lumos Robotics is planning a new fundraising round and targeting a stock-market listing next year as factory robot sales surge. Founder and CEO Yu Chao stated that the fresh capital will be directed toward industrial deployments, hardware development, and AI models, including computing infrastructure. Lumos has previously raised about 1 billion yuan, equivalent to $147 million, across seven funding rounds. The company's largest outside shareholder is Japanese industrial group Mitsubishi Electric, which is collaborating with the firm on manufacturing robotics solutions. While Lumos develops bipedal robots, its commercial focus centers on the MOS 2, a wheeled, dual-arm machine designed for factory quality inspection and material handling.
