CID Probes Custodial Death of Madhya Pradesh Man at Mumbai CSMT Station

The Crime Investigation Department has launched an investigation into the custodial death of 22-year-old Imran Shaikh inside a Railway Protection Force post at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai. Shaikh, a resident of Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh, had arrived in Mumbai looking for employment when he approached the RPF post for help on September 20. His relatives alleged that an argument broke out and RPF personnel assaulted him, while railway officials denied the charges and claimed Shaikh attacked an employee. Shaikh was later found unconscious in a toilet after officials broke open the door, with police suspecting he consumed phenol. The Government Railway Police registered an Accidental Death Report and sent the body to JJ Hospital for a post-mortem.
