The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) accused Delhi Police of forcibly detaining activists and dragging protesters en route to Jantar Mantar to demand CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation over alleged electoral roll irregularities. More than 7,000 people were detained across Delhi, while six police personnel were injured after stones were allegedly hurled at two locations. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, co-convener Saurav Das and leader Ashutosh Ranka were detained aboard their flight after landing at Delhi airport. Legal affairs head Ratna Singh was also reportedly detained outside her residence. Police denied permission for the demonstration, citing late submission of the request.
