CJP Continues School Inspection Campaign Despite New Restrictions
· India · Hindustan Times, The Hindu, Indian Express
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has vowed to continue its "School Theek Karo" campaign after the Rajasthan government issued new guidelines restricting outsider access to schools. The state government's order prohibits photography, videography, and entry into classrooms or toilets without prior permission from school authorities. These rules followed a protest by CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka at a government school in Alwar’s Thanagaji, where he highlighted poor infrastructure and a lack of drinking water. Opposition leader Govind Singh Dotasara criticised the move, claiming the government is attempting to conceal systemic failures rather than fixing them.
Why it matters
The restrictions limit public and parental oversight of government school conditions, potentially affecting transparency in the state's education system.
