CJP Leaders Vow to Continue Protests Demanding CEC's Resignation

Cockroach Janta Party leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka vowed to continue protests demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar after being released from detention in New Delhi. The leaders were intercepted and taken into custody by the police at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday before they could reach the proposed protest venue at Jantar Mantar. Addressing a press conference at the Press Club of India on Sunday, Mr. Das alleged that the country is experiencing an open emergency-like situation and claimed that police seized their phones without providing a seizure memo. A Delhi special court released the three CJP leaders on the condition of no breach of peace for a year. Mr. Das appealed to citizens to come out to the streets and protest peacefully.
