Cockroach Janata Party Founder Criticises Supreme Court And Centre Over Bengal And Protests

· India · Indian Express, Times of India

Cockroach Janata Party founder Abhijeet Dipke accused the Supreme Court of aiding the Election Commission in party splits and election symbol disputes during a press conference in Nagpur. Speaking on Dhammachakra Pravartan Din at Deekshabhoomi, Dipke also criticized the court's handling of voter-list deletions in West Bengal. He further condemned the Narendra Modi government for imposing an unofficial emergency, citing the prolonged detention of activists at New Delhi's Jantar Mahatar who were raising the national flag. The protests centre around voter deletions during the Special Intensive Revision exercise and demands for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Police initially restricted lawyers from meeting detained demonstrators Saurabh, Ashutosh, and Ajinkya, who were subsequently remanded to five days of judicial custody.
