Congress Shares 170-Seat List With Samajwadi Party for Uttar Pradesh Polls

The Congress leadership has shared a list of around 170 seats with the Samajwadi Party as the two allies begin discussions on seat-sharing for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections. Congress sources stated that the party has categorised the seats into four groups ranging from A to D based on ground assessments. The position on Category A seats is nearly final, while Category B may see minor changes and Categories C and D remain open for negotiations. A joint committee comprising leaders from both parties is expected to be formed shortly to finalise the distribution. Both parties have reiterated that defeating the BJP is their shared objective for the polls.
