Congress Turns Rahul Gandhi’s Batman Remark Into Campaign Posters
· India · NDTV, India Today
In August, Congress party workers put up posters near Indira Bhawan in Delhi calling Rahul Gandhi “the real-life Batman.” The posters followed a light-hearted Batman comment he had made earlier. The display was part of the party’s outreach in central Delhi. No official statement from Gandhi or the party explained the timing or intent behind the posters. The images appeared without any accompanying policy announcement or campaign launch. The incident highlights the party’s use of pop culture references in political branding.
Why it matters
The posters show how Congress seeks to connect with younger voters through humour and pop culture. It reflects the party’s effort to shape Rahul Gandhi’s public image ahead of future elections.
