Controversy Erupts Over Removal of Raihan Vadra’s Protest Photographs at Bikaner House
· India · The Hindu, Indian Express, India Today
Visual artist and photographer Raihan Vadra alleged that the management of Bikaner House in New Delhi forced him to remove the bulk of his artworks from his exhibition titled 'No Idea Is Final'. The affected photographs documented recent youth protests and movements in Delhi. Mr. Vadra stated that authorities also directed him to remove two photos of the Tricolour, a request he refused to follow. Congress leader Pawan Khera criticised the removal, questioning the objection to documenting peaceful protests. The exhibition had been shared with the management well in advance according to the artist, who plans to display the full collection at an alternate venue.
