Could be long interview for Babar: Pietersen’s dig at PAK’s Test team overhaul
· Sports · Indian Express
Former England captain Kevin Pietersen has criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board for overhauling its Test squad midway through the series against England. The PCB recalled seven players, including Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq, alongside head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul, following defeats in Headingley and Lord's. Pakistan named seven replacements, featuring uncapped players Muhammad Randhawa and Razaullah, alongside Saim Ayub, Abdullah Fazal, Arafat Minhas, Saad Baig, and Mohammad Imran Jnr. Mike Hesson and Ashley Noffke have been appointed as the new head coach and bowling coach respectively. The third and final Test is scheduled to begin in Edgbaston on September 9.
Why it matters
The radical mid-series changes disrupt Pakistan's team stability ahead of the final Test against England, putting intense pressure on captain Babar Azam.
