CPI(M) Vows Legal and Political Fight Against ED Case in Kerala

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has dismissed the Enforcement Directorate's move to register a corruption case against Polit Bureau member Pinarayi Vijayan and his son-in-law P.A. Mohamed Riyas as politically motivated. CPI(M) State secretary M.V. Govindan stated on Tuesday that the party will contest the proceedings both legally and politically in Thiruvananthapuram. The case originates from the Exalogic-CMRL deal and an alleged diary containing ₹182 crore in donations linked to Kochi-based CMRL. Mr. Govindan argued that the investigation targets Mr. Vijayan unfairly while ignoring other leaders named in the records. He also questioned whether the Congress-led UDF government in Kerala would execute the ED's directives.
