A large crane collapsed onto houses in Kurla East, Mumbai, during a Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) eviction and demolition operation, injuring eight people. The incident occurred in the early hours at Buntara Bhavan, Mhada Building, behind Galaxy Apartment in Indira Nagar, Kurla. Six injured persons were admitted to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's Sion Hospital and are stable, while two others were admitted to Kurla Bhabha Hospital, also in stable condition. The crane was being mounted for the eviction operation when it toppled onto nearby houses, according to BMC L-ward officials. MHADA was preparing to carry out the eviction and demolition at the site when the accident happened.
