Cricketers competing at the upcoming Asian Games in Japan will receive better accommodation than athletes from many other sports. The games, taking place in Nagoya and the wider Aichi area from September 19, are facing accommodation constraints as athlete numbers have reached 17,000. Japan Cricket Association CEO Naoki Alex Miyaji stated that participating cricket teams will be housed in hotels, while athletes in other sports are assigned to cruise ships or container hotels. The cricket matches will be held at Korogi Sports Park, a converted baseball field located a 40-minute train ride from central Nagoya. Miyaji added that the pitch is being prepared by the curator of Sri Lanka's Pallekele International Cricket Stadium to ensure a high standard.
