· Sports · Times of India, Zee News, Sportstar
Batter Deepak Hooda is set to rejoin the Baroda cricket team following a five-year stint with Rajasthan. The Baroda Cricket Association CEO Snehal Parikh confirmed that all internal issues between the player and the association have been resolved. Hooda previously left the team in 2021 after alleging abusive language and bullying by captain Krunal Pandya. The 31-year-old has accumulated 4,267 runs in 67 first-class matches during his career. Additionally, wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma will continue to represent Baroda as a guest player in white-ball formats.
Why it matters
The reconciliation ends a high-profile disciplinary standoff within the Baroda Cricket Association, allowing the veteran all-rounder to resume his domestic career with his home state team.
