A 46-year-old member of the Defence Security Corps died on Wednesday after sustaining a gunshot wound at the National Defence Academy in Pune. R K Singh, originally from Bihar, was discovered with a neck injury at a security outpost on September 11 and subsequently treated at a military hospital. Pune police have registered an accidental death report and are currently investigating the incident, including the sequence of events involving his service rifle. This fatality follows the death of another soldier, Havildar Jagtar Singh, whose body was found on a railway track near Pune earlier in September. Authorities have ordered a separate inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the second soldier's death.
