Defence Stocks Surge Up to 10% as Government Notifies 6th Indigenisation List

Defence stocks rallied by up to 10% on Tuesday after the Ministry of Defence unveiled its sixth Positive Indigenisation List containing 405 items. The newly notified list is restricted to domestic sourcing only, carrying an estimated business potential of Rs 3,070 crore. Paras Defence shares hit the upper circuit and reached a fresh 52-week high of Rs 1,527.30 apiece, while Zen Technologies gained over 7%. Other counters including Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers, Dynamatic Technologies, and Data Patterns posted gains between 3% and 5%. The broad-based rally pushed the Nifty India Defence index up by over 1% to 9,964 on Tuesday afternoon.

Domestic defence manufacturers stand to benefit directly from the mandated sourcing of 405 strategically important items, reducing reliance on foreign imports.
