Delhi Air Quality Drops to Severe Levels in Parts
· India · The Hindu, Indian Express, LiveMint
Parts of Delhi recorded severe air pollution levels on Tuesday morning, November 3, 2026, as the city's overall air quality remained in the very poor category. Data from the Central Pollution Control Board showed a 24-hour average Air Quality Index of 330 at 8 a.m. Localities including Rohini, Punjabi Bagh, Alipur, Bawana, Jahangirpuri, Vivek Vihar, and Narela reported the most hazardous conditions. Nearby towns such as Noida, Kaithal, and Hapur also experienced very poor air quality. Authorities have implemented seasonal curbs, including a ban on construction and non-BS-VI vehicles, to combat the spike in pollution caused by meteorological factors and stubble burning.
Why it matters
The severe air quality poses immediate health risks to Delhi residents, particularly those with pre-existing respiratory or cardiovascular conditions.
