Delhi CEO Clarifies Voter Notices Do Not Mean Automatic Deletion

The Delhi Chief Electoral Officer has clarified that receiving a notice during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls does not result in automatic name removal. This announcement follows reports that 33 lakh voters, including L K Advani, S Jaishankar, and Manish Sisodia, were flagged for discrepancies. The Election Commission of India stated that all affected individuals are entitled to a fair hearing and due process before any final decision on deletion. The revision exercise, which began on May 14, aims to ensure the accuracy of the electoral roll by verifying voter information.
